Time flies very fast! Soon, Sherrie will be 5 months old. In fact, she is now 20 weeks old. On one hand, I can't wait for her to reach the major milestones.. but on the other hand, I wish she would stay cute and totally dependent on me. Selfish thought? I bet all mothers think that way.
Recently, she has begun to touch her toes and feet and is successful most of the time. Sometimes she will get so frustrated because she can only touch one foot and not the other. It is amusing to see her like that... but it's all part and parcel of learning isn't it?
Anyway, she rolled over officially on 20th July!! She did it twice on the same day. The days before that she kept sleeping late because she simply wanted to roll! She couldn't stop and stayed up till 11am. Even when she woke up for her night feed, she would want to roll. Finally after she rolled on that morning, she was so happy. Of course, I rewarded her with hugs and kisses and words of encouragement. I am so proud of my darling!
She has also started to express preference for toys, eagerly reaching out for toys she likes and promptly put them into her mouth. The Tigger, plastic ball, elephant rattle are amongst the toys she likes the most. When i carry her by supporting her bum and dance in front of the mirror, she reaches out for the white rabbit that hops like a chicken. It's so fun to see her show her likes and dislikes. For instance, she likes it whe I carry her and dance in front of the mirror and when I tickle her by nudging her ribs. She also likes to do tummy time on my tummy but only if i sing to her! She simply loves song and dance.... Oh yes, she now talks to Tigger.. literally just having a conversation.
Oh yes, she doesn't like to be swaddled already and we didn't even do any weaning. She simply didn't want it over the last few weeks and voila! No more swaddle. She does, however, like the pillow that V bought.. it gives her a sense of assurance and probably has her smell. Now to get her to sleep, I put the pillow over her chest and sing the song 'Pass It On' to her. It helps her sleep and soothes her. Certainly works wonders!!
This saturday we are going to take her for a swim! I can't wait to see how she reacts to it. We filled a soft tub last week with warm water and let her kick around but because there wasn't enough water, it wasn't really like swimming.
